Taguspark Hosts "Corpo Coletivo," a Reflection on Identity and Contemporary Art

On September 17, MAU—the Taguspark Museum of Urban Art —will open the exhibition “Corpo Coletivo, ” a group show featuring seven visual artists that invites the public to reflect on culture, identity, territory, and contemporary art.

The exhibition is the result of work carried out as part of the Exhibition Curation Course offered by the National Society of Fine Arts (SNBA) for the 2025/2026 academic year, reflecting a commitment to education, research, and the promotion of contemporary artistic creation.

Curated by Paula Gabriel Mouta and João Carlos, and coordinated by José Rosinhas, the exhibition brings together artists from diverse backgrounds and practices, fostering a dialogue between multiple artistic languages and sensibilities. Through this convergence of perspectives, “Corpo Coletivo” challenges visitors to develop new interpretations of the present and the future, affirming contemporary art as a space for reflection and participation.

The program also includes a series of talks, consisting of five sessions open to the public that will bring together artists, curators, researchers, and guests to discuss topics such as the role of art in society, the identity of art in Portugal, the relationship between art and human rights, and how artistic creation contributes to the construction of a collective identity.

By hosting “Corpo Coletivo,” Taguspark – City of Knowledge reinforces culture as a strategic pillar of its innovation ecosystem, fostering connections between art, science, technology, businesses, and the community. The MAU thus establishes itself as a space for experimentation, critical thinking, and the convergence of different forms of knowledge, helping to affirm the City of Knowledge as a place where creativity and innovation go hand in hand.
