O MAU reflete o espírito que se vive no Taguspark, disruptivo, arrojado e urbano, e encarna os valores que a Cidade do Conhecimento pretende transmitir para a comunidade. Apure os sentidos e deixe-se surpreender pelos jardins do parque e pelas suas garagens, e descubra um conjunto de obras atrevidas, desafiantes e criativas de vários artistas plásticos portugueses reconhecidos a nível internacional, entre os quais Bordalo II, Clo Bourgard e Osir. Este museu é um convite à introspeção e à reflexão sobre a sociedade e o mundo em que vivemos.

Open Heart tráz ao espaço de circulação e encontro entre pessoas a marca do “Coração Aberto” através de um símbolo que nos remete ao amor, à tolerância e à compreensão. Esta peça familiariza com uma pintura, integrante de uma coleção particular, temporariamente exposta num edifício do Núcleo central, intitulado “Love Talks” e da qual faz também parte uma réplica da peça Open Heart.

As montanhas de sílex derreteram. O cidadão sai da gruta de Leceia naquele território anfiteatro onde o palco é azul. A sua caminhada é longa, é uma caminhada de séculos. Século das luzes, século da razão. O cidadão é sempre o mesmo e a paisagem mutante.

A obra Plastic Partridges, representada por uma perdiz e quatro perdigotos, inclui-se. à semelhança do Esquilo, numa série de trabalhos do artista plástico Bordalo II, denominada Big Trash Animals, que visa chamar a atenção para um problema da atualidade, relacionado com a produção de lixo, o desperdício, a poluição e os seus efeitos no nosso planeta. O objetivo do artista português é propor um olhar diferente sobre os nossos hábitos. A ideia passa por representar uma imagem da natureza, neste caso os animais, construída com aquilo que a destrói. Os animais utilizados são espécies locais, espécies extintas ou em perigo.

Com origem num símbolo de um jogo eletrónico, a bola 8 aterrou na entrada do edifício Simulador 2. Sentimos depois a necessidade de abrir o espaço da Cidade do Conhecimento a um conjunto de objetos voadores em forma de bolas de snooker a que chamamos Space Marshmallows. Por cá aterraram, por cá ficaram.

Temperamento II é título da pintura/mural, criada em 2018/19, numa homenagem-retrato a Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, por ocasião do centenário sobre a morte deste que foi o maior modernista português do século XX.
Da autoria de Ana MESQuita, a obra de grandes dimensões (5mX4m) foi pintada in loco, em acrílico sobre tela, e encontra-se no Núcleo Central do Taguspark. Com esta obra e a exposição em que se inseria, inaugurámos a atividade artística que deu origem ao MAU.

“Término” celebra o final do dia, o pôr do sol. É uma sensação tão simples e ao mesmo tempo tão difícil de descrever. É um cenário caótico, onde a flora local dá lugar à fauna noturna e as almas se perdem. Os desajeitados apressam-se, não podem perder mais um serão de descontrolo.
Estranho que a terra é que se põe à frente, mas o coitado do sol é que se pôs. E se condicionássemos a nossa experiência simplesmente ao que vemos, e assumíssemos que o sol é que dá voltas à terra? Errados não estaríamos.

Esta pintura de grande formato foi criada por MCSK como arte graffiti, pintada ao vivo e diante de visitantes. Sem esboços prévios de preparação, a obra apresenta uma interpretação pop da Última Ceia. No seu centro estão a mulher do artista e o seu primogénito, simbolizando a vida e o nascimento. À sua volta estão figuras significativas da cultura pop, misturando elementos clássicos e contemporâneos. Esta obra de arte celebra a fusão de referências culturais pessoais e populares, criando um quadro dinâmico e significativo.
