The ponds in the garden of Taguspark's Núcleo Central building have a new resident, a "giant duckling" dressed in mirrors called Induck'Tion. A project by the Portuguese artist OSIR, it has now joined the urban art itinerary of the country's largest Science and Technology Park, which can be visited daily in Oeiras.

The Induck'Tion sculpture is part of OSIR's #REFLETE project, in which the artist works with ordinary, unlikely and unexplored materials. The featured material is mirror.

This work can already be visited in the lakes next to Taguspark's Central Nucleus, and is now part of the itinerary for the Urban Art Museum, which is in full development in the park and already features several works by Portuguese artists, including Bordalo II, Clo Burgard, Youthone, Gonçalo Mar, The Caver, Styler and Intervenção Rethorica. There's a lot to see in Portugal's largest Science and Technology Park, located in Oeiras.

In OSIR's words, Induck'Tion takes Taguspark's values as its starting point, with a special focus on two aspects that it considers essential for any human being: "Happiness" and "Well-being".

To realize this proposal, the Portuguese artist went back to childhood imagery and an object that could convey the feelings of happiness and comfort that only our own home, our haven, can achieve.

The iconic rubber ducky is an object that many people have had the pleasure of playing with, and those who haven't had the opportunity have come across one, recalling happy moments from their childhood.

In this case, a duckling covered in mirrors not only so that it can dissolve into the architectural space, but also so that anyone who comes across the work can become part of its composition.

The piece is a floating sculpture that, despite being "anchored", can have some freedom of movement to take on a "life of its own". According to the artist, his name Induck'Tion was given during the construction of the piece and it makes more and more sense at the present time in which the current way of life is inducing us.

Induck'Tion reflects the current moment and when visited in person it counterbalances the social feeling that is being experienced, conveying joy and well-being.

The artist OSIR was born in 1983 in the district of Lisbon, in the municipality of Amadora. His love of drawing and art in general emerged at a very early age and over the years this relationship grew and became more solid, until it became part of his daily life.
