Between September and November, the Taguspark Auditorium will host a new concert series dedicated to contemporary Portuguese music, featuring Carlos Bica, Cabrita, and Ricardo Reis Soares on stage. The initiative brings together three distinct artistic genres—singer-songwriter music, jazz, and original compositions—and enhances the cultural program of the City of Knowledge.
The concerts take place at 9:00 p.m., last approximately 60 minutes, and are recommended for children ages 6 and up. Tickets cost 15€ and are available for purchase through BOL.
The series kicks off on September 30 with Carlos Bica, a leading figure in European jazz, renowned for the unique lyricism of his compositions and his constant search for new musical languages. Throughout his well-established international career, he has collaborated with some of the most prominent musicians on the contemporary scene, developing projects that blend tradition and experimentation. His music is distinguished by its melodic depth, creative freedom, and an artistic identity that ranks him among the most significant Portuguese double bassists and composers.
On October 21, Cabrita—a musician, composer, and producer—takes the stage to present *Umbra*, his latest album. The album explores themes such as memory, loss, and the passage of time, revealing mature songwriting and an artistic approach marked by experimentation and expressiveness. Recognized for his versatility and instrumental virtuosity, Cabrita combines emotional intensity and sonic sophistication on stage.
The series concludes on November 18 with Ricardo Reis Soares, a singer-songwriter from the new generation of Portuguese composers, whose musical world is rooted in singer-songwriter tradition, where lyrics, emotion, and storytelling take center stage. Following the release of his debut EP, *Contra Tempo*, in 2025, he returns to the stage with new compositions and an approach that blends contemporary influences with personal and sensitive songwriting.
This concert series marks another step in the consolidation of Taguspark’s cultural program, which has been establishing itself as a leading venue not only for innovation and knowledge, but also for artistic creation. By bringing together three leading figures in contemporary Portuguese music, Taguspark reinforces its commitment to a high-quality cultural program that is accessible to the community living in and visiting the park, and that helps make this space even more vibrant and diverse.
