Created by Binau, the exhibition presents a set of paintings that use black humor and flesh out the hidden depths of the artist's mind. "All in my Head" will be on display at Núcleo Central do Taguspark, from September 7 to October 21, and admission is free.
Under an innocent and somewhat childish trait, where the strident colors stand out, "All in my Head" presents a family of misshapen characters that is complete and balanced in its asymmetries, chromaticism and macabre appearance, satirizing the superfluous, routine, sense of belonging and traditionalism. This creative act seeks to put the public's emotions to the test, challenge the viewer's perception and encourage them to reflect on the creation of beauty standards and the concept of identity.
Born in the 1990s, Binau began his career at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto, but quickly moved into the world of illustration and visual arts. His universe is developed under the influence of punk and Dadaism, and can be categorized as trash-pop. His work places special emphasis on the creation of deformed and mutant characters who live together in dystopian scenarios.
