Taguspark and the Instituto Superior Técnico – Oeiras Campus announce the launch of two calls for artistic projects: Large-Scale Art and Digital and Technological Art. The initiative invites the submission of innovative proposals that explore the relationship between art, science, technology, and public space, promoting new forms of artistic creation and experimentation.
The selected projects will have the opportunity to be developed and integrated into the facilities at Taguspark and the Instituto Superior Técnico—Oeiras Campus, contributing to the cultural and artistic enrichment of the City of Knowledge. Each winning proposal will receive a prize of 2,000 euros.
The Large-Format Art Competition challenges participants to create an artistic installation on a 2 x 3-meter canvas, with no thematic restrictions, encouraging a diversity of approaches and visual languages. The selected proposals will be executed in person between October 19 and 25, in an open-space setting accessible to the public. The canvas will be provided by the organizing entities. See the rules.
The Digital and Technological Art Competition promotes artistic creation that uses digital, computational, or technological media as an integral part of the creative process. This includes proposals for digital illustration, generative art, interactive installations, augmented and virtual reality, video art, digital sculpture, or projects that incorporate hardware. Selected projects must be completed within a maximum of two months after selection, and attendance is mandatory on October 19, the date of the official session to announce and formalize the winning projects. Check out the rules.
The works will become part of the art collections of Taguspark and the Instituto Superior Técnico—Oeiras Campus. Both institutions also provide a coworking/open-space workspace for the development of the proposals.
Applications are open until September 30, 2026, and should be submitted to artes@taguspark.pt, including a project description, an image or mockup of the proposal, a list of the materials and technologies to be used, and the participant’s or collective’s resume and/or portfolio. The rules and regulations can be found on the official channels of the organizing entities.
This initiative strengthens the strategic partnership between Taguspark and the Instituto Superior Técnico—Oeiras Campus, fostering closer ties between the academic, scientific, technological, and creative communities, and establishing the City of Knowledge as a region increasingly open to experimentation, knowledge, and culture.
