"Desert Flowers", by Vasco Maio, brings together at the Taguspark Central Center, from March 20, a set of paintings on wood that illustrate a visual narrative where the place is the protagonist.

Through painting, but combining it with the discipline of drawing, Vasco Maio works with wood in order to generate visual layers in the composition. And like a fossil engraved in the earth, the work generates a sense of memory, be it conceptual, technical or aesthetic. Using paint, brushes and oil pastels, Vasco Maio invites the public to discover the stratigraphic layers of the composition, just like an archaeologist.

The creation of environments and characters are, for Vasco Maio, like allegorical flowers that sprout in arid environments and establish a dialog between place, time, memory and cycles.

With free admission, "Desert Flowers", by Vasco Maio, is part of the MAU - Museum of Urban Art, which aims to promote critical thinking and contribute to the well-being of those who visit and work in the City of Knowledge.
