On May 5 at 9:00 p.m., the Taguspark Auditorium will host a tribute concert to pianist Olga Prats, an evening that promises to celebrate her life and legacy through a fusion of music and film, conducted by António Vitorino de Almeida.

Two of the maestro’s works dedicated to Olga Prats will be performed by Sara Vaz, one of the pianist’s students, in a particularly meaningful moment of this tribute.

Recognized for her unique artistic journey, Olga Prats built a 69-year career marked by interpretive excellence and a profound musical sensibility. She was the first pianist in Portugal to perform and record works by Astor Piazzolla, and she also played a decisive role in promoting fado on the piano, reviving scores from the late 19th and early 20th centuries by composers such as Alexandre Rey Colaço and Eduardo Burnay.

In addition to the musical aspect, this tribute will also reveal a lesser-known dimension of her artistic journey. Throughout her career, Olga Prats has taken on a variety of creative challenges, including projects in the performing arts and musical theater. The show revisits one of those moments, blending image and sound in an intimate, emotional, and unexpected way.

Produced by Paula Prats, the pianist’s daughter, the show is supported by Taguspark and the Yellow Star Company.

A unique opportunity to revisit the legacy of one of the most influential figures in Portuguese music.

Tickets are on sale at BOL.
