The Taguspark Incubator had its application approved for the "Vale Incubadoras e Aceleradoras" (Incubators and Accelerators Grant) project, promoted by IAPMEI, obtaining €150,000 in funding.

This project reinforces Taguspark Incubator's position as a hub for technological innovation and support for entrepreneurship, creating conditions to attract and boost start-ups with global ambitions.

The project enables the incubator to strengthen the conditions for supporting startups in two main areas: technological reinforcement and entrepreneurial training.

Technological reinforcement to accelerate innovation
In the technological field, the Taguspark Incubator has invested in the acquisition of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment for entrepreneurs in the areas of biotechnology, health, the environment, and the food industry.

Among the available resources, the following stand out: NanoDrop, autoclave, refrigerated centrifuge and rotor, ultrasonic bath, fluorescence microscope, and -80°C freezer. Together, these pieces of equipment form an innovative technological hub ready to support experimentation and the development of new products.

A fully equipped prototyping laboratory was also created, with 3D printers, oscilloscopes, virtual reality glasses, soldering stations, laser cutting and engraving machines, among other precision laboratory equipment. This new space will allow entrepreneurs and startups to quickly transform ideas into physical prototypes, test concepts in a practical way, and validate them before moving on to scale production.

A space open to innovation, ideal for those who want to see, experiment, and make things happen.

Entrepreneurial training and specialized mentoring
The entrepreneurial training component included specialized training and programs tailored to the needs of startups based at the Taguspark Incubator.

Among the training activities carried out, the modules dedicated to leadership, accounting and taxation, marketing, communication, and sales stand out, as well as training in Pitch Mentoring, focused on preparing entrepreneurs for presentations to investors, innovation competitions, and acceleration programs.

“This project reinforces the role of the Taguspark Incubator as a space for innovation and technological entrepreneurship, equipped with cutting-edge technology to support disruptive ideas and companies with global ambitions,” says Eduardo Baptista Correia, CEO of Taguspark.

Supporting entrepreneurship for 26 years
Since its creation in 1999, the Taguspark Incubator has supported more than 200 startups and is recognized for being the birthplace of one of the first national unicorns. After the incubation cycle ends, 90% of startups settle in Taguspark – City of Knowledge, where they continue to grow as science and technology-based companies.

Visiting the Taguspark Incubator is discovering where the future of Portuguese startups is being created.
