The Taguspark - Cidade do Conhecimento Incubator, located in the heart of the largest innovation ecosystem in the Oeiras Valley, has just extended its call for startups that want to turn innovative projects into business realities until December 15. Applications are open at https://94.46.25.60/pt-pt/solucoes/incubadora/candidata-te/

Created in 2012, the Incubator has supported around two hundred startups at different stages, from pre-incubation through product development to business growth, increased sales and internationalization. In the last Call, held in 2021, 37 projects were submitted from a wide range of areas, from Information Technology to Physics, Electronics and Renewable Energies. Virtual incubation was also introduced.

With capacity for 29 companies in physical incubation, the Taguspark Incubator stands out for its laboratories, which include generic technical equipment.

For Eduardo Baptista Correia, CEO of Taguspark - Cidade do Conhecimento, "expectations are high, both for physical and virtual incubation. With this Call, we want to boost innovative projects in the areas of Blue Economy, Marine Science, Biotechnology, Space and Defense, without forgetting areas such as Software, Electronics, Robotics and Automation, Life Sciences, Renewable Energies, Sustainability and Circular Economy".

"The advantages for startups are numerous. Joining the Taguspark Incubator connects them to a unique ecosystem on the Iberian Peninsula, which links companies, research centers and universities, and gives them access to a network of contacts with unique opportunities and export and internationalization capabilities," adds Eduardo Baptista Correia.

Of the startups supported to date, 90% choose, after finishing their incubation process, to settle in the City of Knowledge as successful technology-based companies.

Currently, the Taguspark Incubator, the first national incubator that was at the genesis of one of Portugal's unicorns, Talkdesk, occupies an area of 2,000 m² and offers offices of 18, 25 and 50 m² equipped with all the necessary furniture for the initial activity of the companies, as well as laboratories with various generic technical equipment, which makes it possible to reduce the initial investment of the startups and accelerate the progress of the projects from day one.

Applications from startups can be submitted until December 15 at https://94.46.25.60/pt-pt/solucoes/incubadora/candidata-te/. There will then be a phase of jury analysis and selection of the projects to join the incubator.

With a privileged location in Oeiras, Taguspark is a meeting point for ideas and projects that make a difference at national and international level. With 150 companies, 24 startups and 16,000 professionals working and visiting the space every day, the Taguspark Incubator supports disruptive and ambitious minds who want to turn their innovative projects into business realities.
