D. Nuno Álvares Pereira
December 2025

This graffiti by Ruído features a mural installation dedicated to D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, also known as Santo Condestável — a central figure in the history of Portugal. An exceptional military strategist and decisive leader in the affirmation of Portuguese independence during the Crisis of 1383–1385, he distinguished himself in the Battle of Aljubarrota, a decisive moment that guaranteed the country's autonomy and consolidated its national identity.
In a rare and deeply symbolic journey, D. Nuno Álvares Pereira later renounced military life, devoting himself to spirituality, humility, and solidarity, values that marked his canonization and his timeless legacy. This artistic intervention brings historical memory into the contemporary space, crossing urban art, identity, and universal values such as courage, public service, and transcendence.
