Between July 2 and 4, Oeiras hosts america’s most important and disruptive investment event. Pitch at the Beach is holding its first edition in Europe and is looking for 30 start-ups to present their projects to a group of business angels, venture capitalists, family offices and private investors. Applications are already taking place on the event’s website.
For three days, the municipality of Oeiras will host conferences and panels on new trends such as metaverse and the future of NFT’s, the development of soft skills and investments. In an informal environment, sun and beach, this event has been asserting itself internationally as the starting point to create business opportunities and is intended for entrepreneurs, incubators, accelerators, entrepreneurs, innovation directors, government entities attracting investments and innovation and investors. “What’s Pitch at the Beach? It is a business, investment event, but also networking and sharing where business angels, entrepreneurs and speakers participate without wearing suits or titles. Here, only ideas and experiences count.
The only rule is: everyone has to talk to everyone.”
About the event, “in each of the three days we get to know 10 selected start-ups, among hundreds of applications, who have 5 minutes to prove to have the project of greatest potential to grow. We are very excited about the first edition on the European continent, in Oeiras Valley, where we find an ecosystem of innovation and knowledge and, at the same time, with this proximity to the beach that provides a unique event”, ends Israel Pons.
Speakers Zev Siegl, co-founder of Starbucks, Swati Mandela, activist and granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, and Miryam Lazarte, CEO of Latam Startups, will attend the event to talk about business, entrepreneurship and innovation. The full program will be announced soon.
In previous editions, “Pitch at the Beach” has been a great success in Cancun, Tulum and Pasión Island in Cozumel, Mexico, and has a large accumulated investment of more than eight million dollars. Among the more than 300 start-ups applying for each event, only 30 are selected to present their projects and try to achieve an investment that allows them to grow and cement their business on other continents.
The first Portuguese edition of “Pitch at the Beach”, whose concept was created by Angels Nest and Bizrupt, two of the most active start-up investment groups in Latin America, has the support of Taguspark, Oeiras Municipality, Altice Portugal and Huawei. The event takes place on July 2, 3 and 4, 2022, at the Marina in Oeiras Valley.
